SPACEs in Action Team

Deja - Health Equity & Tax Justice Organizer

Destynee - Childcare Champion and Climate Justice Organizer
I do this work because I want communities of color to know that their voice & and quality of life is important.

Hope - Childcare Champion and Tax Justice Organizer
This work plays a crucial role in areas I care about deeply. Healthcare, education, poverty and environmental conservation often have gaps left by for-profit or governmental sectors. This work allows me to be the change I want to see in this world.

Megan - Childcare Champion and Climate Justice Bilingual Organizer
I am an organizer because it’s been my dream since I was a kid. I was always inspired by Dr. King Jr. and wanted to be an activist like him, so for many years I struggled with what path I wanted to take to achieve that. When I finally found organizing, I knew it was the path I needed to live out my dreams.

Richard - Tax Justice and Health Equity Bilingual Organizer
I do the work because I want people to be able to thrive in this city, not just survive. And to do so with the dignity that economic security provides

TJ - Health Equity, Tax and Climate Justice Organizer
I do this work because it's what the community needs. I've also been a helping hand and enjoy talking with others, regardless of their background. I do this work because of the black and brown people who came before me and fought their entire lives for freedom, so I can advocate, educate, and activate the community.

LaDon - Executive Director
I do this work because I have gone through challenges in my life that I have overcome with support, and to be able to see others have their breakthrough is powerful. When I see them help others with their breakthrough, it is inspiring.

Karissa - Partnership Manager
I do this work because I am mom to a Black daughter, I want her and all Black and Brown children to grow up in a world that is safe, equitable, and full of possibility. I may not be on the front lines, but I believe the work behind the scenes is just as essential to building the kind of future our kids and community deserve.
